I Launched a $4,999/Month Web Development Subscription — Here's Why
Yesterday, I launched Unreal Brains — a high-touch, flat-rate web development subscription for fast-moving startups and small businesses.
It costs $4,999/month.
It’s just me right now.
And yes — that’s very intentional.
Why I built this
Over the years, I’ve built and launched SaaS tools, scraped data, worked on open-source, traded stocks, and developed dashboards and internal tools using a wide stack of modern technologies.
I’ve always preferred building over pitching. And I wanted a model that lets me focus purely on solving technical problems — while giving founders and businesses a faster alternative to hiring.
Unreal Brains is my way of delivering high-quality full-stack development, one task at a time, without the usual friction.
What you get
For a flat monthly price, you get access to a solo developer (me) who:
- Can build your MVP, landing page, dashboard, or backend workflows
- Works across frontend and backend
- Writes clean, understandable, production-ready code
- Uses AI responsibly to move faster (but never blindly)
- Delivers in ~48 hours per request (on average)
Tech I work with
- Frontend: Astro, Svelte, Tailwind, DaisyUI
- Backend: Supabase, FastAPI, Flask, Django, PostgreSQL
- Data & Tools: Streamlit, Pandas, custom data analytics tools, scraping, automation
Not just SaaS — I build for more
While Unreal Brains is great for fast-growing SaaS startups, the services aren’t limited to just that.
I can also help with:
- Landing pages for small businesses
- Shopify eCommerce site customization
- AI-integrated dashboards or tools
- Internal web tools for operations or analytics
- Static marketing sites and personal brands
Basically, if it’s on the web — I can likely build it.
The $4,999 price tag
This is for businesses that need senior-level execution — without the slow hiring pipeline, onboarding delays, or inconsistent freelancers.
Here’s how it compares:
- A junior dev: ~$6K/month + overhead + management
- A decent agency: Usually way more
- A solo freelancer: Might ghost halfway through
With Unreal Brains, there’s no back-and-forth. You send a task, I build and ship — simple.
Is this for you?
If you:
- Have a clear roadmap or feature list
- Want fast, professional builds without micromanagement
- Need frontend, backend, or data automation done cleanly
…then Unreal Brains might be exactly what you need.
If you’re looking for the cheapest possible dev, or want to offload a 6-month roadmap in week one — I’m probably not your guy.
What’s next?
Right now:
- Just launched
- No clients yet
- Big dreams, small team (still just me)
If this turns into a sustainable indie business — great.
If it helps a few founders or small businesses move faster — still worth it.
